a few completed things.

well i have a friend who is expecting a little boy so i crocheting her my "baby set" which is a set of booties, a hat, a bath towl, a washcloth and a bib and burp cloth. i have the hat finished and worked up a ROUGH copy of a pattern out of the april issue of crochet world but i guess the pattern was not proof read because it is wrong in several places and my bib didnt turn out the way i want it .. it is SUPPOSED to be a monkey but to me looks like a duck.I am working on my own version of a bib that will be a pig for my impending arrival.and i found some trivet's i made some time back .. check out my pics below and let me know what you think

the trivets

top of hat

strawberry short cake as my "model"

the hat laying flat(above)

the bib i made it is supposed to be a monkey.

open work night

open work night at our local yarn store is a thursday night one a month, i have never attended one until last night , Im so glad i went, not only did i get TWO hrs of crochet time undisturbed by kids and hubby. but i also met a PUBLISHED free lance crochet designer named Renee Barnes her Lovely Ruffles Shawl pattern was plublished in Crochet Worlds April Issue. She teaches the crochet classes at the yarn store. We had a lovely chat and she helped me work on a pattern idea I had for my little girls skirt and showed me how to do the new "chainless crochet" technique, So it was very informative and relaxing few hours. So im hoping when i get the skirt finished i can get it published and make my dream of being a crochet designer a reality, and sell my crocheted things on etsy. I also discoverd this am that i am expecting baby #3 due sometime in october or november , Tomarrow is my oldest 3rd birtday, where did the time go?? She is growing up so fast and little gus was 16 months old today. Well I need to go finish one easter basket and sew on some cloth diapers for gus. I hope everyone has a happy easter..

easter baskets

well we went to the local dirt track auto races this evening and while my husband and brother watched cars drive in circles.( it can be quite exciting believe it or not) i crocheted on some easter baskets ive been hoping to finish in time. while in town today i stopped by the yarn store and they were having a 50 % off sale on some of their yarns to make room for new stuff. While there i got a ball of crochet thread, and knitting needle and some stitch markers, I was having quite a bit of trouble making my plastic canvis take shape and sewing the pieces together so my easter baskets would be more sturdy, They are for two almost 3yrolds and 16month old and a 3month old, My yarn needle was tofat and the cotton yarn to bulky to fit thru the hole, so i purchased the above mentioned supplies and was elated to find they were a perfect fit (note to self email kathy and let her know ) Kathy and PJ own and operate my new favorite place the yarn store i could disappear in there for hours It is peaceful and quite and there is yarn everywhere along with notions and books and books of patterns it is a Crocheters Heaven.LET ME TELL YOU!! and when the kids are not with me it is BETTET THAN well here is a slide show of my progress, some are just waiting on handles and others need more work . and the little yellow one is going to be a differnent kind all together, Im crocheting it like a beanie hat then just adding a handle for my 3 month old nephew. let me know what you think,, i m consisdering crocheting a round coaster type bottem for them or i may just run out of time and let them be "naked"
Let me know what you think of them..
